In French 'The Avengers' are 'Chapeau Melon & Bottes de Cuir' - a much better title for the adventures of John Steed & Emma Peel don't you think?! We've just finished the firstblack & white series with Diana Rigg and have started the second box set of thenext series in colour. I'm not sure whether I prefer the black & white episodes with their wacky plots and clever dialogue or the 60s colours in the next series.
i didn't know about this movie but i do like what it's called in french! i 'll try to see if i can find the copies here, i love black&white films form the 50s and 60s!
for once, french title is not bad...

that's interesting. in german, it's called 'mit schirm, charme und melone' - with umbrella, charm and bowler hat (chapeau melon :-)
