terracotta

I'm not going to make the same mistake as last summer, by planting plants unsuited to the full med sun on our balcony, which gets the sun from mid-morning to late afternoon.
So yesterday I planted up pots with no less than 3 types of lavender, rosemary, 2 types of thyme and a strawberry plant for good measure. Of course I'm using terracotta pots which are not good for keeping the plants moist but I couldn't bear to use the plastic ones.

There is a great old shop in the old town centre of Montpellier which only sells these pots (plus their bases
), seeds and those crates you take your cat to the vet in!
I'm not sure how he keeps his business going (not helped by a 2 hour lunch break
) but I like buying my pots from him.
