I'll be in Helsinki in a few weeks time for a couple of nights and wondered if any of you could recommend any nice hotels to stay in. Also I'd love to hear of any tips for good cafés - especially if they have cinnamon buns. Thanks!
Sis Deli is indeed lovely. Also check out Café Bar 9: http://www.bar9.net. As for a place to stay, if you don't need a five-star hotel, I'd suggest contacting Maja Guesthouse (http://www.kolokoti.fi/maja.html) to see if they are currently open.
i really really love these photos. don't know any places in helsinki, but if you're interested in textiles, I bought the sweetest pillowcases there. the brand is called nanso i think.
Ah. Helsinki. Cafe Carusel has been my Saturday morning hang out for a while now... the prices are a bit high but their chairs are so comfy and you get unlimited coffee or tea! Let's see, there is also Ekberg, everyone knows that one. Cafe Esplanad is cosy for rainy Sunday mornings. Cafe Fanny makes pretty good hot chocolate.
I could go on forever but really, Cafe Carusel has been my favourite for a while.
I wish I could give any tips about helsinki - I definitely love that town, but not living there don't know the cafés or hotels that well. hope you will enjoy helsinki!:)
