Throughout January in French bakeries you'll find epiphany cakes. They come in 2 sorts - either a flakey pastry filled with frangipane version or my preference, a brioche covered with candied fruit royaume. There's always a trinket or une fève (traditionally a broad bean) insideand the lucky finder gets to wear a crown which comes with every galette.
le gâteau des rois est aussi mon préféré, mais c'est normal, je suis de marseille;)
ReplyDeleteles photos 2 et 3 me donnent faim!!!
I've just had a piece of both this afternoon, pour l'enième fois... I'll be looking like a galette des rois soon!
